About Five Lamps Films

The Five Lamps Films event was founded in 2007 by two of Derby’s own independent film makers – Dean Spicksley

and Daz Spencer-Lovesey who in collaboration with Amit Zala agreed terms with a collective goal to provide a venue for networking and showcasing which would be assessable to all.

The first event April 20th 2007 hosted numerous independent shorts from local university based film makers and quickly generated local interest and involvement, indeed film submissions and event attendees steadily grew and productions from further a field where soon introduced with related groups making planned trips to attend their showcasing event. Networking gained momentum and projects improved both in quality and achievability.

Special themes and feature events soon followed and five lamps films gained respected acknowledgment from numerous established film and media companies. The future looks promising with many collaborative projects and further associations planned Five Lamps Films continues to evolve, demonstrating talent through exciting new productions and welcoming all to climb aboard.
